Business Conservation – Stopping the Dripping Tap

What a year 2012 is shaping up to be?Business water conservation

As well as all the sporting events that are happening, it’s also been a year of U turns. Not least the fiasco of the hose pipe ban.

The year kicked off with us all being told to ‘conserve water’ as it looked to be one of the driest on record. But then, right on cue, the heavens opened and remained open until the country was completely saturated. Severe weather warnings, flooding – you name it, we’ve had it.

Even though the wide spread drought threat has now departed and the hose pipe ban lifted, the Environment Agency is still calling for businesses and householders to help conserve water. An activity that could also help businesses save money.

So what can you do to help?

Water conservation checklist

  1. Check your pipes and taps for leaks and get them repaired
  2. Consider rain harvesting and waste water recycling
  3. Reduce the frequency of washing your fleet vehicles. Just keep their headlights, mirrors and windows clean
  4. Use your water wisely

Doing your bit will help conserve water stocks and, with a bit of luck, help prevent future drought worries.
